Beauty Queen

Ah, the world of makeup, skincare, fragrances, hair and enhancements. It’s as alluring as it is brilliant. With that being said, I’m proud to announce my recent promotion to Beauty Director of Blush Magazine at FIT. It’s a role I didn’t see coming and am excited to take on, full throttle. I can’t wait to see what adventures my final semester holds!

A little bit about…

Skincare

I find myself hoarding more and more Retinol/Vitamin C/etc. products as I approach age 22, which some might find quite comical. However, anti-aging is just that, preventative action for forthcoming battles. I’m sure many of my friends, followers and readers can agree that it’s never too early to take care of your skin. Wear your daily dose of SPF and moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Hair

Hair truly can alter ones’ appearance immensely with the purposeful brushstroke of a caramel highlight. I’ve always loved being fearless in the name of hair dye, and constantly fought a blonde VS brunette battle throughout the bulk of my high school days. After a few years off, and my full natural color making it’s break through, I’ve decided it’s time to switch things up again. The upcoming transformation will be featured in a post in the coming weeks. 🙂 I’m excited!

Makeup

It is an empowering thing to step out of the house with a bold lip or crazy full eyelashes. For me, I find that it improves my overall work ethic if I feel better about the way that I look. It’s not superficial, it’s simply the feeling that I have some control in this unpredictable world, and in that I’ve chosen to put my best self forward. It’s an art that I get to master every morning.

I could go on and on about the likes of beauty, the industry and how cosmetics hold a special place in my heart, but I’m going to just leave you with the amazing Part 2 of my friend’s photographic magic:

MEG X ISABEL | EDITORIAL STYLE | CONCEPT 2

Wearing a full face of drugstore cosmetics with the exception of a fabulous glossier highlight. Who said makeup had to be expensive?
A fun, messy, low bun with some loose strands is worn here. Hairspray and dry shampoo, you are my saviors!
I love a good white jean. This fabulous wide-leg pair is currently on sale at Express.
All about the details: White calf-high socks from Forever 21 and gorgeous, chandelier-like earrings from Francesca’s.
See previous post for heel and corset details.
The sleeves are what make this outfit pop, which are attached to an ivory crop top I scored at Forever 21, as well.
